Do you want to work at the center of events concerning human rights and combating discrimination? At the unit for human rights and discrimination issues, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the unit's issues and operate in international contexts.
Your Workday. Sweden's Tomorrow.
The unit is seeking a qualified case officer for issues within the unit's policy areas, namely the work against discrimination, which also includes work against racism and efforts for equal rights and opportunities for LGBTQI persons, as well as coordination and development of work on human rights at the national level. The tasks involve independently and in collaboration with others managing and coordinating current EU and international issues within the unit's areas of responsibility. You will work with case management, drafting memoranda, and making presentations. The work also includes other issues within the unit's area of responsibility. You are expected to represent the ministry and Sweden in meetings and negotiations independently, as well as maintain ongoing international contacts. Your work is characterized by continuous and close dialogue with both the ministry's management and colleagues within the unit and the ministry, as well as with other ministries, authorities, and the foreign service. Often, quickly prepared materials and positions are required on current issues, and you should therefore enjoy working under conditions where you are prepared for the unexpected. Travel in the service is included.
Your Background
You have a relevant academic education, and we consider it an advantage if you have a law degree.
You have experience in case management within the EU area from the Government Offices, good knowledge of public administration, the EU, and international cooperation, as well as very good knowledge of English. Knowledge of French is an advantage. We would like you to have experience representing Sweden at EU and international meetings. We consider it an advantage if you have experience working in any of the EU's institutions or with EU issues at an authority, as well as experience working with the unit's issues.
The Government Offices' employee criteria are holistic, development, and results. Everyone working in the Government Offices needs to have a holistic view and collaborate for the best of the organization. You are expected to contribute your perspective and expertise and be open to others. You will bring ideas and new approaches to improve and develop the organization and your own competence. You are results-oriented in your actions and adapt when needs and directions change.
Your Qualities
As a person, you are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks. You have a good ability to work effectively, even with several parallel tasks, and to meet set deadlines. You have the ability to create and maintain relationships and networks.
Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities and your ability to function well in our team and contribute to the development within the unit.
